International French Jazz Summer School Reviews
"Somehow, being away from home frees you up from the usual hangups about your own playing and makes you more willing to experiment. I learnt a lot of important principles here that stay with me today. Burned into my memory are visions of late night jams and french wine."
As you can see below, Jazz Summer School students have a great time on our French courses .. why not join them this year
"An awesome week. Great people, great environment and a fantastic way to spend seven days."
" Just a quick note to let you know how your course continues to touch my life.
On Thursday I was rehearsing with a band I have joined at the suggestion of Clive the sax player off the course . Its tough - lots of reading - but I'm learning all the time.
Last night I picked up Joe (the singer) in Warrington station to go with him to see Liane at The Cinnamon Club in Altrincham. She was glorious of course - it was a sell out and everyone adored her. In the second half she got both Joe and I up separately to play and sing a song each. -They got 'Case of You' of course - It was tremendous (the experience I mean).
Joe is now booked to support both Ian Shaw in December and Liane in January. I am sure it wont be long before he gets a booking there in his own right...
Then next Monday Les (trumpet) and his wife are visiting from France and coming to dinner. We are then going over to see Phil Steadman's band rehearse. On Tuesday I am rehearsing with a soul band for two pre-Xmas gigs. On Wednesday we are going to see the Geoff Gascoyne project, and then it's Thursday again !!
Three years ago i was doing NOTHING and a year ago I didnt know any of these people existed - even, to my shame, Liane. Thanks again !" A.W.
