JULIAN SIEGEL is an in-demand saxophonist who was awarded the 2007 BBC Jazz Award for Best Instrumentalist and the 2011 London Jazz Award for the Julian Siegel Quartet album ‘Urban Theme Park’. He leads the Julian Siegel Trio featuring U.S. Improvising stars Drummer Joey Baron and Bassist Greg Cohen, and has co-led the band 'Partisans' for the last 14 years with guitarist Phil Robson. He has played in ensembles led by Hermeto Pascoal, Kenny Wheeler, Django Bates, Kirk Lightsey, Andrew Hill, Jazz Jamaica, Mike Gibbs, John Dankworth, Jason Yarde and many more.
He is an experienced educator and is Professor of Jazz Saxophone and Improvisation at Trinity College of Music and visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London
